It Starts and Ends with Carousel Clouds

"Having formed late in 2014, Carousel Clouds have recently created excitement around the more knowledgeable of Manchester’s music scenesters. They are finally making their live debut at the Soup Kitchen on Friday, November 13th at 7pm. A love of The Mars Volta, Lanterns on the Lake and Spiritualized unites this band of experienced musicians, made up of Tamsin Middleton (vocals), Neil Meehan (guitar, vocals), Ben Mulvey (keyboards, vocals), Matt Anderson (drums) and Dickon Kyme-Wright (guitar).

Former Optional Wallace bass player Meehan explains that subjects of life, death, anxiety, spiritualism, connection with the after-life
and the thoughts around it are the themes that are in the songs. Carousel Clouds have spent the last year relentlessly rehearsing and crafting an album full of songs.

The band are presently working on their debut single, Starts and Ends, an exquisite and dreamy ballad sung by Neil. A soft acoustic strum and subtle feedback create a coalescing ambience of beauty and menace as his distinct frail yet reassuring Northern vowels serenade your senses.

Neil is relishing the night at Soup Kitchen. He says, “We've got six songs lined up and it will be a half hour show. We're splitting the show into two halves. The first half is one long continual sequence and the second part is more like a traditional trio of songs”.
After the show, we will be going in the studio in December and getting everything recorded for release in the new year.

In the meantime, get yourself down to the Soup Kitchen to see Carousel Sounds and see what everybody else in Manchester is getting excited about."
